Kloofing allows one to explore uninhabited areas through rock hopping, bum sliding, pool crawling, hiking, river traversing and throwing oneself over the edge, into breathtaking pools.
This is one opportunity where one can experience the outdoors with all the senses. Participants will be able to see beautiful scenery, smell different plants and flowers, feel the warmth of the sun and the chill of the water, touch the rocks polished by the flow of the water over thousands of years and taste the adventure of a lifetime.
- Duration: 2.5 hour(s)
- Location: Sabie River
Kloofing takes place in the upper part of the Sabie River, where the gradient is quite steep and the river is narrow, because of the steep sides of the gorge. Participants will be in the water all the time, swimming through the pools, exploring potholes and jumping off rocks and cliffs into the river.
One of the highlights of the trip is an optional eight metre jump from a cliff into a deep pool next to a thundering waterfall.
A certain degree of fitness is expected, as participants will need to run over slippery rocks and walk out of a gorge at the end of the trip.
Well-trained and reliable water guides will accompany the participants. They will ensure that the trip is safe and fun.
