Participants are requested to meet at the reception.
Moholoholo Rehabilitation Centre
Wildlife is brought to the centre from all corners of South Africa. Once healthy and ready, they are reintroduced to their natural environment. Those creatures that cannot be returned to the wild due to the nature and extent of their injuries are cared for at the centre and are used to educate the many people who visit the rehabilitation centre every year, both from across South Africa and abroad.
Initially, only donations were received when given. Later, as the rehabilitation centre grew, the need for finances for buying medicines, for maintaining the cages and for buying food for the animals grew and a fee began to be collected from visitors to the centre.
Animals that participants are likely to see include lion, leopard, serval, lynx, honey badger, eagle, vulture and any babies that may be present.
Participant guidelines
Participants are reminded that these are wild animals and hence there should be no shouting or disturbing the animals in any way.
